Imagine driving down the road on a nice sunny afternoon and seeing the following sign in front of a church.
That might make you slow down and do a double take.
According to the Bible (here and here) you aren't allowed to eat anything from the seas and rivers that don't have scales and fins. That means none of the items in the sign image, along with oysters, clams, and mussels.
The GodHatesShrimp.com about page describes in better detail than I can why following Leviticus 20:13 concerning homosexuality and not following the unclean seafood law is a bit contradictory.

ReplyDeleteThe scripture described here are part of the law in the Old Testament. This is the law as laid down for the Jews. The law also states that Jews can't eat anything from a pig, unleavened bread and much more. Jesus came, however in fulfillment of the law. One thing that Jesus noted was that many Jews followed the letter of the law exactly and still weren't pleasing to God because of the state of their heart. That's why Jesus was hated so much because he went against laws. He healed on the Sabbath day. Which was considered working and against the law. Jesus said in Math 5:17 that he came to fulfill the law. Once you accept Christ as the Son of God, you are born again, a new creature in Christ. So not following things like not eating shrimp and pork, and working on the Sabbath are no longer necessary.What is needed is to accept Christ as your Savior and live according to his teachings.
